Wood Pellets

Wood pellets are a type of biomass fuel made from compressed sawdust, wood shavings, and other wood waste materials. They are an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas.

Key benefits of wood pellets

Wood pellets are a sustainable, practical and cost effective solution.  One of the main advantages of wood pellets is their low carbon emissions. When burned, they emit far less carbon dioxide than fossil fuels, making them a much more sustainable choice. Wood pellets are also renewable, since they are generally made from waste materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Another advantage of wood pellets is their high energy density. They have a much higher energy content per unit weight than most other types of biomass fuel. This means that they can produce more heat per unit of fuel, making them more efficient and cost-effective.

Wood pellets are also easy to store and transport. They come in standardised sizes and shapes, which makes them easy to stack and store in bulk. They can also be transported in bulk by truck, train, or ship, which makes them a convenient fuel source for power plants and other large-scale energy users.

Why choose wood pellets

Wood pellets are a good choice for large scale energy users and homeowners alike.  Due to the fact that wood pellets can be transported in bulk by truck, train, or ship and are easy to store, they are a practical fuel source for power plants and other large-scale energy users.

Wood pellets are also a great choice for homeowners who are looking for a clean and efficient source of heat. Pellet stoves and boilers are widely available, and they offer a number of advantages over traditional wood-burning stoves. For example, pellet stoves are much cleaner and more efficient than traditional wood stoves, since they produce far less ash and smoke.

Wood pellets are a versatile and sustainable source of energy that offer a number of advantages over traditional fossil fuels.

Wood Pelleting Trials

We can provide product analysis and testing services.  We support research and development into wood pellets.  We have experience in pelleting a diverse array of products.

  • We usually require up to 200kg of the wood waste material (depending on material)

  • We have the ability to dry a product to the correct level of moisture content which is approximately 10-15%

  • We cut the product to the size required which is sub 5mm before pelleting

  • We will trial different dies to find the best compression for the desired result for the product.  ( Hard/ soft pellets)

  • We can send the product for testing if necessary
